Pre-Events White Water Top Sport

In 2010, Dutch Water Dreams will host three top sports events. In June, the World Cup Canoe Slalom will take place, followed by the World Rafting Championship and the International Flowboard Cup in July. During the start-up phase of these events, 'pre-events' are going to take place in October 2009.

Dutch Open canoe slalom
The Dutch Open on 17 and 18 October is an international event where slalom kayakers from all over Europe can be seen in a spectacular slalom. Many Olympic kayakers will be in action. The Dutch champion and Olympian Robert Bouten will also appear at the start. The idea of canoe slalom is to follow a predetermined route as quickly as possible. The course is marked with red and green poles on the white water course.

Pre-World Rafting
The pre-event is the preparation for the world championship. Many top international teams will be participating. R6 world champion Brazil is coming with four teams, but also the silver medal holder of the R6 Japan (professional) will be present! So this is a completely top sports level event! The Netherlands will also participate with four men’s and four women’s teams. There will be four disciplines: Sprint, Head 2 head, Slalom and Downriver. Come and watch these top teams as preparation for the world championship!

Kidz and Teens on the Wave
During every school holiday, children from 6 to 16 years can enjoy themselves bodyboarding on the FlowRiders. Every weekday from 11.30 am to 1.30 pm, children can bodyboard for just €12.50 (normally €28.75). Instructors are ready to teach the children the coolest tricks. So drop in at Dutch Water Dreams during the autumn holiday!
