Dordt in Stoom 2012

Dordt in Steam (Dordt in Stoom), the largest steam event on the shores of Europe, will bring the steam era back to life in Dordrecht, from 1 to 3 June 2012. Steam ships, steamrollers, steam tractors, steam engines and steam cars will provide a nostalgic spectacle in the historic port area of Dordrecht.
Steam ships
Almost all the steam ships that can sail in the Netherlands will gather in the Wolwevershaven and at the Groothoofd. On Friday 1 June, the steam ships will arrive. In the evening there will be a fleet display where all the participating steam ships will present themselves to the public. On 2 and 3 June, steam ships will provide trips round the Drierivierenpunt, the point where three rivers join, in the middle of the city. On Saturday evening, people will be able to look round the larger ships, which will be lit up with hundred of lights.
Steam trip
Unique during the ‘Dordt in Steam’ event that takes place every two years is the Steam trip. Nowhere else in the world is it possible to enjoy steam-on-land, steam-on-water and steam-on-rails, combined into one attraction ticket. The Steam trip ticket gives access to all the means of transport during the event, such as the steam train and historic buses. The Steam trip is rounded off with a visit to the large model making show.
