The Koninklijke Delftsche Aardewerkfabriek [Royal Delft Pottery] "De Porceleyne Fles Anno 1653" N.V. (Royal Delft) is the leading producer of authentic Delft Blue ornamental earthenware and modern earthenware. The world famous Delft Blue earthenware is still hand-painted here in the traditional way. It is the only remaining Delft pottery factory from the 17th century and receives yearly 140.000 visitors from all over the world. Discover the world of the phenomenal Delft Blue earthenware, by visiting our museum, taking the tour through the factory or by participating in a workshop!

Of all crafts, glass blowing is the most spectaculair. Fire, skill, power and years of experience are necessary to shape the hot substance in a way that something beautiful come into existence. Glass blowing seems easy, but is very difficult. The most beautiful location to admire this old craft is the historical wooden hangar of the Glasblazerij Leerdam. Sitting on the tribune you'll have a good view on what is happening on the workfloor.

William of Orange, who was murderd here in 1584 (bullet holes in wall) occupies center stage on the ground floor of the former Saint Agatha convent (15th century). Upstairs visitors step into the ‘The Glory of Delft  in the Golden Age’. The museum manages an extensive collection of 17th-century art and applied arts of Delft origin. There are top pieces of Delftware, paintings of Vermeer’s contemporaries, silver objects and other forms of applied arts.

The National Glass Museum has a permanent glass collection, and also organises various changing exhibitions, including in the spacious museum garden. Adjacent to the garden is Cochius' Keuken, the museum café.
